Having a Dr. Zhivago moment in the snow, bundled up with double layers of vintage Missoni knits. It's a welcome peaceful mood in this city where much of the park snow has been left undisturbed.

We received more snow this weekend and I felt inspired to wear pastel snow-princess-y colours and shapes. I wanted things to seem very 'sugar plum fairy' with ruffles (sleeves + bag), sequins, sheer, fluff and cashmere, anchored in distressed pastel denim. Things seem so dreamy with a thick coating of white and it makes me marvel at how much the temperature changes here from summer to winter - much more than in Victoria BC.

This is shaping up to be a cold December in Milano which makes a faux wooly coat like this one necessary. I feel a bit like a cross between a sheep and a bear as it's definitely oversize. Paired with Margiela skinny pants, I have my new go-to winter look.

Feeling quite Christmas-y in this vintage coat. This brings both excitement (Milano is so beautifully and tastefully decorated at this time of year and going for evening walks in the crisp air is a treat) and slight panic as there are a number of things to get ready in the next two weeks. Hoping to bake some gingerbread cookies which will be the first home-made-from-scratch ones that my Italian family has tasted.

We've entered a bit of a cold spell in Milan with temperatures in the early negatives. The snow that fell this past Friday hasn't melted away yet and we're due to get more this coming Friday. I was in a menswear mood with this outfit, sticking to blacks with a touch of midnight and greys.

Breaking some major rules regarding hair colour and outfit colour, and matching hard a-la-80's style, but it feels fun and somehow right sometimes. I always wear minimal makeup and in this case it's necessary in order to avoid looking too 'done'. I love the pleated waist of this coat, a detail that adds softness and creates some balance to the brightness.

Enjoying the December air wrapped up in this deliciously soft Malo cashmere knit-coat. I thought it would be tricky to wear with all the colours in it so I'm starting it out safe against all black to let it have center stage.

Taking things into edgier territory with a black on black on black with leather trim outfit. The dress is an awesome little vintage find of unknown brand and is a great example of a way to wear midi-length, while keeping things flattering on the legs with a side slit. Lovely wool fabric trimmed with leather boarders on the top and slit and waist with a mesh high neck.
